The “Survival Polish” course has been developed for people who want to easily communicate simple messages in Polish. If you want to learn how to handle most communication situations without actually investing a lot of time and money, this course is for you!

You will see that Polish does not have to be a difficult, grammar-based language - the course will focus on communicative functions and real-life situations. There will be no grammar component -instead, the materials will emphasize global understanding and cultural aspects of language.

The  “SURVIVAL POLISH” package  consits of: 

30 hours of Polish instruction (30 x 45 minutes):

- classes can be organized in blocks of several hours each (e.g. 5 meetings of 4.5 h). 

- or in the form of regular, 120-minute meetings, a couple times a week. 

- The course syllabus covers only communicative situations (the topics can either be proposed by the students on the basis of their needs, or suggested by Accent School of Polish)

TASK-BASED COMPONENT – practical tasks in the use of Language in specific real life situations (eg. ordering a pizza and eating it, calling for a taxi, first contact situations, asking for directions, phone number, email address etc.)

VIDEO Lessons – recording your own spoken Polish on video (the opportuunity to work on pronunciation and clarity of communication) 

Polish Culture Guide – a meeting conducted in English (or another language suggested by course participants) regarding Polish habits, sensitive situations, and interaction ettiquette (1x 90minutes or 2x90 minutes) 

Language Update – daily email update with 3 new Polish words including pronunciation and English meaning 

A tour of Krakow (you can choose one trip out of the pool of 3)

Additional workshop (you can choose from):

• Movie club (Polish films with English subtitles, discussion) 

• Workshop in Phonetics

• Culinary Workshop

• Photography Workshop

• Jazz / Dance Workshop

The purpose of the workshops is to familiarize the students with Polish language and culture  through topics they find particularly interesting.
