Katarzyna Roś
Methodology Director of the Polish Department
In 2001 I graduated from the Jagiellonian University with a major in Polish philology. In the course of my studies I analyzed the methodology of Polish language, in particular the phenomenon of a creative teacher. I also completed post-graduate studies devoted to teaching Polish as a foreign language at the Jagiellonian University. I have worked at the Jagiellonian University teaching Polish as a foreign language as part of the Polish Language and Culture School and Socrates Erasmus program. I am continually improving my methodology skills by taking part in trainings and conferences. I hold a certificate of completing a special course entitled – Teaching and examining foreigners in Polish language courses on the basis of the State Committee for the Certification of Proficiency in Polish as a Foreign Language.
My real passion is designing interesting programs for teaching Polish as a foreign language; I also enjoy writing didactic materials for our students.
I know how to share my enthusiasm with students who very quickly begin to use the language!
Let’s all study enjoyably! Polish is not BORING!
Joanna Glówczynska
I studied Theatre Arts and Polish studies at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, where I also completed post-graduate studies of Polish for Foreigners. I speak English and Russian. For a couple of years I have been teaching Polish to foreigners: I have conducted courses at the Jagiellonian University (the Summer School of the Polish Language and Culture), in private schools and large companies. I have a lot of experience in both “one-to-one” and group teaching on all levels of proficiency. I’ve also had an opportunity to work with people who were Polish by descent but who emigrated and wanted to brush up on their mother tongue.
The longer I work the more enthusiasm I have for teaching which I treat as a real challenge. I always have a lot of interesting ideas, often bring my own materials to class and realize my own teaching programmes. Thanks to this I can easily adapt to the individual needs of my students.
Very favourable opinions from my students show that I can teach in an effective and friendly way. Good grades from other teachers who have observed my lessons also prove that I’m competent and well prepared to work with foreigners.
